Season one debuted to huge ratings earlier this year, and was quickly renewed for a second season.
They actually already finished filming the latest episodes, though there is no set release date.
At this time, we know of one cast member who is definitely exiting. We also have several stars who are confirmed to return for season two of the hit.
The show is Sheridan’s most intimate work to date, unfolding across two distinct worlds – the beautiful landscape of Montana and the vibrant energy of Manhattan – as it examines the ties that bind families together.
Michelle Pfeiffer — Confirmed to Return for Season 2 of The Madison!
As the lead and executive producer, Michelle Pfeiffer is set to return for season two of the show as Stacy Clyburn.
About where her character goes emotionally in the show’s second season, she told the LA Times, “I will say that the reality of really what it means to be there, without the skill sets to be there, it starts to sink in more and more as season 2 goes on. It becomes harder and more dangerous and begins to unravel.”
Patrick J. Adams — Expected to return for Season 2 of The Madison
Patrick J. Adams, who portrays Russell McIntosh on the series, is expected to return for season two of The Madison.
He told USA Today that he “promises more personal growth” from his character in the upcoming episodes, basically confirming he’s back.
Beau Garrett — Expected to return for Season 2 of The Madison
Beau Garrett, who portrays Abigail Reese, confirmed she’s returning.
When Town & Country asked what we can expect in season two, she responded, “I think that season two, you’ll find that there’s a settling in a sense; we’re more immersed in this Montana life that is very different than what we know. There’s been bits of that in season one where you see the hornets or things that are so outside of this family’s comfort zone. There’s more dabbling into that world and dabbling into Montana people and life and culture. And what does that look like for this family who is clearly not in their comfort zone?”
Elle Chapman — Expected to return for Season 2 of The Madison
Elle Chapman, who stars as Paige McIntosh, will be back for season two.
She told WWD, “[Paige] is so interesting to me to play because I think on the surface, she seems very image focused and sometimes bratty and a little bit out of touch. But I think when you get to know her, you realize she just feels things at 100 percent and she loves at 100 percent. She hates at 100 percent. he’s messy, but I think that’s what makes her human.”
Kurt Russell — Expected to return for Season 2 of The Madison
While Kurt Russell‘s character, Preston Clyburn, is mostly featured in flashbacks, he’s expected to return.
He gave a quote teasing what is to come next season.
Kurt told Variety, “I think it’s fair to say that in Season 2 — and I believe Michelle will agree with me — what happens is the level of real danger goes up. Things begin to become dangerous in realistic ways.”
Ben Schnetzer – Expected to Return for Season 2 of The Madison
Ben Schnetzer, who portrayed Deputy Sheriff Van Davis, is expected to return for season two.
He teased Abby and Van’s journey telling TV Insider, “There’s probably something in how unrealistic or unattainable this is that is really enticing to both of them. There’s something about how it turns the volume up a little bit in cranking up that desire. If Van was just a guy in Abigail’s social circle in New York that she crossed paths with, you don’t all of a sudden feel the heat turned up because you know that this person might not be attainable. You can take it for granted more, and I don’t think they take each other for granted.”
Amiah Miller — Expected to return for Season 2 of The Madison
Amiah Miller, who portrays Bridgette Reese on the show, confirmed she’ll be back for season two.
She told Glamour, “She does learn to love Montana and falls in love with it. There’s a lot of exciting stuff that happens [in season 2] that I can’t wait for people to see.”
Alaina Pollack — Expected to return for Season 2 of The Madison
Alaina Pollack, who portrays young Macy Reese, is also expected to be back.
Kevin Zegers – Expected to Return for Season 2 of The Madison
Kevin Zegers, who portrays Cade Harris, confirmed he’s back for season two.
“We just finished the second season, but like this idea of history with people [comes through the screen] and I think that just innately happens when you spend a lot of time with people. I think part of the beauty of being up there — it’s a really small town. There’s 10 of us or 12 of us there, and the crew all live there. It’s like we all go hiking or we go out, it’s a very communal vibe. We obviously all go to work and bust our *ss for 10 or 12 hours, but my memories are going hiking and then having breakfast with people and just getting to know [them], and I think that’s probably what translates in the show, especially as it goes on,” he told Brit + Co.
Matthew Fox – Exiting The Madison After 1 Season
Matthew Fox, who played Paul on the show, will not be back for the show’s second season. His character was killed in the premiere.
About not wanting to do a long-term show commitment, he told THR, “That’s one of my requirements these days. I’m at a point in my life where I’d rather pop in and do something interesting, but I don’t want to dedicate six years of my life to something [again]. Taylor is an an exceptional writer. When I read the scripts, it really hit me where it hurts, and also made me laugh.”
The Madison season 2 does not yet have a premiere date, but there’s already big news about season three as well.
